The National Operations Policy Officers are key legal case manager roles assisting the Executive Director National Registrar Operations and Practice ("the Executive Director"), the Director of National Registrar Operations ("the Director") and other key members of the National Operations team "National Operations" of the FCFCOA in the exercise of their day-to-day responsibilities.
The National Operations Policy Officer provides administrative and process/policy support and assistance to the Executive Director, the Director and National Operations to develop, improve and implement the Courts' Registrar practice and dispute resolution opportunities. This includes carrying out administrative and legal policy work and supporting the strategic development of the Courts' Registrar work and dispute resolution initiatives, including projects, and liaising with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
The role requires outstanding organisational skills, together with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The people appointed to these positions will have an understanding of court processes and protocol (or an ability to develop that understanding in a short period of time), anticipate what needs to be done, show great initiative; be highly motivated and organised, efficient, able to work under pressure and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The key responsibilities and duties of the National Operations Policy Officer position include as follows:
- Assisting the Executive Director, Director and National Operations with day to day functions in the Registrar Operations and Practice space, including administrative support such as inbox management, diary management and keeping track of outstanding tasks.
- Contribute to the development of legal policy, Registrar best practice initiatives and national operations more broadly, including support for the strategic development of the FCFCOA's dispute resolution opportunities, initiatives and projects.
- Assistance with the modernisation, development, automation and implementation of the Court's listing and administrative processes for work undertaken by registrars, including dispute resolution conferences.
- Assistance with the planning, inputting and management of all Registrar Court diaries on a national basis.
- Assistance with knowledge management and development of resources for internal Registrar and Legal Case Manager protocols, manuals and trainings, including legal research.
- Assisting more broadly with the Dispute Resolution Team, including to ensure the efficient listing of Dispute Resolution events, liaison with judge's chambers, Registrars and Court Child Services.
- Maintenance of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Case Management Judges, Registrars, Court Child Experts and external organisations.
- Support, where required, of the Sessional Registrar cohort, the Legal Case Manager cohort, and the wider Dispute Resolution Team during periods of leave of absence.
- Other duties as required.
