The Office of the Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services within the Department of Energy and Climate provides strategic advice and support to departmental senior executives and officers on issues relating to corporate business activities.
As a key member of the team, you will use your expertise to improve procurement outcomes for the department by providing procurement policy and advice to departmental officers.
**As the Principal Advisor, you will be responsible for**: - Developing, implementing and reviewing the department's procurement plans, policies, procedures, templates and guidance materials as required by the Queensland Procurement Policy. Enhancing organisational decision making through appropriate collection, analysis and reporting of procurement data and statistics. Providing guidance to procurement professionals and non-procurement staff across the department, to assist them deliver quality, best practice procurement advice and service. Promoting procurement learning resources and best practice considerations, particularly to non-procurement staff undertaking procurement, to enhance their understanding of procurement obligations and awareness of the Queensland Procurement Policy. Partnering strategically with business divisions to deliver high quality future focused procurement initiatives and services that support business objectives and transformational change within the department. Providing expert advice across a range of procurement related areas including contract development and management, procurement strategies, offer evaluation, and engaging consultants and contractors. Providing expert procurement confirmation advice to ensure departmental procurement processes are appropriate for the value and business risk of the expenditure, comply with the Queensland Procurement Policy principles and requirements of relevant procurement guidelines and procedures for the type of expenditure, and have sufficient and relevant supporting documents available for scrutiny.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: - Successful experience in developing and implementing effective plans, procedures and guidelines. Ability to provide advice, guidance and training to departmental officers. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic procurement and contract management services to key stakeholders.
