**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the hospital.

The St Vincent's Health Network Sydney (SVHNS) Fire Manager is responsible for the overall fire safety management at SVHNS to ensure compliance with NSW Health Fire Safety Legislation, Facility Compliance and dangerous goods storage.

The position ensures the services delivered by contractors are cost effective, meet performance and compliance standards, and that the engagement of third-party providers complies with procurement policy requirements and inductions. This role responsible for the listed position duties of SVHNS facilities at Darlinghurst and Auburn.

**Position Duties**
- Provide specialist fire systems auditing, advice and consultancy services to the executive management teams and senior managers of SVHNS.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of Fire Safety Manager as detailed in current NSW Health Fire Safety in Health Care Facilities
- Manage Fire Safety Compliance of the facilities as required in current NSW Health Fire Safety Compliance Guideline and NSW Health Fire Safety in Health Care Facilities
- In conjunction with other stakeholders, review and update, as required, procedures and manuals for fire systems, WHS, facility compliance and dangerous goods storage.
- Highlight and initiate corrective action to correct unsafe or potentially dangerous fire and WHS risk situations.
- Provide guidance to WHS committee/s on fire safety matters (where formed) and asset management unit related WHS matters. Work with WHS team to develop and implement safe methods of operations.
- Attend, guide and provide reports to the Incident Response Committee at both Darlinghurst and Auburn
- Manage the Annual Fire Safety Statements and their submission to local council and NSW Fire Brigade
- Attend the FIPs in the event of an alarm to support the Chief Warden
- Assist with the management of the Emergency Wardens across SVHNS
- Develop a working relationship with the local NSW Fire and Rescue Units and related emergency service, state government agencies, and local government agencies.
- Update WHS and risk management system (Risk Man) action items related to asset management unit and update system data requirements.
- Organize safety committee meetings and follow up actions and attend monthly accountability meeting.
- Coordinate with WHS advisor and manage workplace inspections and investigate safety related incidents and follow up corrective actions.
- Upload and maintain up-to-date facility related compliance certifications within the systems such AFMO, TRIM and internal drive. Provide monthly status update to manager engineering contracts and sustainability on facility compliance status and update risk assessment.
- Review and approve contractor safety inductions within the contractor management system (Linkview).

2. Hold or working towards Level 2 Fire Safety Manager accreditation as well as proven experience within the Fire Safety industry.

5. Highly developed communications skills, including experience presenting to managers at all levels combined with strong report writing skills
