The successful applicant will work to contribute to the provision of quality educational service by providing high-level support for teaching and learning for students with diverse needs.As an Inclusion Teacher you will have the responsibility for the following:
- providing advice to classroom teachers; as information, referral to other supports and/or reviewing documents and materials.
- supporting case management through liaising with external service providers, such as through the NDIS, to identify and develop adjustments delivered at school, working with parents to obtain necessary consent and, in collaboration with classroom teachers, consulting students and parents about reasonable adjustments being provided by the school.
- connecting staff to specialist advice and support, such as the right departmental officer for specialist advice such as State School Registered Nurses, speech language pathologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, principal advisors, Advisory Visiting Teachers and guidance officers. For students with more intensive needs this may involve liaising with regional specialists and gaining parental consent, for example, to develop individualised health plans.
A knowledge of how to utilise One School to create Individual Curriculum Plans, Personalised Learning Records and Support Provisions is welcomed.
