GPU Modelling Engineer Job Description
As a GPU modelling engineer, you will be part of a team that develops industry-leading simulation platforms and contributes to next-generation computing experiences. Your key responsibility will be to collaborate with architects, design engineers, and verification engineers on specifications, verification plans, and test plans.
The role involves developing and maintaining C/C++ models and supporting systems. You will be required to debug, test, analyze, and improve model functional and performance accuracy. Additionally, you will identify and implement opportunities for improving AMD's design and verification environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and develop technical specifications.
Design, develop, and maintain complex C/C++ models and supporting systems.
Perform debugging, testing, analysis, and improvement of model functional and performance accuracy.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in the design and verification environment.
Requirements:
Recent graduate or 1-3 years of experience as a software designer and engineer proficient in C++.
Bachelor or Master level degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Proficiency in C++ (and/or C).
Experience developing complex systems in a structured environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to understand requirements and expectations, and clarify when needed.
Ability to concisely present results and status to peers and management.
Strong analytical ability, including data-based decision making and understanding complex architectural, design, and verification concepts.
Proactive, self-motivating, and able to seek guidance when needed.
Enjoys dynamic work environment.
Thrives in collaborative team environment and values diverse perspectives.
Supports team objectives and continuously improves team processes.
Preferred Experience:
Software development using C or C++.
Use of industry-standard profiling and debug tools.
Knowledge of Graphics APIs or graphics pipeline.
Hardware design or verification experience.
Hardware implementation using HDLs such as Verilog or VHDL.
Scripting languages (Python, Perl, shell).
Productivity tools (Jira, Jenkins).
Configuration management tools (Perforce, GIT).
