**About the role**:
The Associate will play a key role in the GCIB GSB Oceania (' ~GSB Oceania) coverage team supporting the origination and management of new and existing corporate and institutional customers with GCIB Oceania.
This role plays an integral part of the banks achieving its risk and return targets supporting, liaising and driving the annual credit reviews and credit monitoring in accordance with the Bank's internal procedures.
Key aspects of the role include management of GSB Oceania customer credit and portfolio related requests, supporting the Relationship Managers to manage credit proposals for new and existing transactions, (incorporating deal structuring, preparing of screening material, client ROE analysis, credit submissions, and historical and forward looking financial and industry analysis), supporting the preparation of client presentations and customer account plans, all whilst managing compliance with internal processes and policies and other ad hoc support to the relationship managers.
**What you'll be doing**:
**Strategy and Focus**:This role supports our inbound customers from MUFG's Global network (US, EMEA, APAC) that have business operations (subsidiaries) and banking requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
**Customer Acquisition**: Support the on-boarding/origination of new clients as part of our local, regional and global growth plans.
**Management of Customer Requests**:Support the GSB Oceania Relationship Managers and Portfolio Management team in managing customer needs. The role will require direct customer interactions from time to time.
**Direct Customer Engagement and Support**:The role will at times have direct engagement with customers, and the employee is expected to be proactive, responsive and supportive at all times
**Relationship Manager Support**: Work closely with the GSB Relationship Managers to ensure best in class client coverage
**Account Management**: The Associate will be responsible for working and with the credit portfolio teams with a focus on credit quality monitoring and the achievement of the Bank's risk / return targets through:
- Coordinating within the MUFG network
- Working closely with Oceania Portfolio management team and the Offshore credit portfolio teams (CBCD, MESI) to ensure annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews are completed in an accurate manner
- Covenant compliance monitoring
- Supporting refinancing and other revenue initiatives across the portfolio
- Client interactions on tasks required for on-boarding and account management
- Any other required tasks in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures and required to support the broader GSB Oceania business
**Portfolio Management**: Support the GSB Oceania and Portfolio Management Group in the management of its client set, including a focus on sector risk / return and other strategic review processes
**What we are looking for**:
- Business / Commerce / Law Degree from a leading university is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office in particular, Microsoft Excel and the ability to build and modify financial models
- Possess an understanding of financial and economic markets
- The ability to communicate clearly both in writing, verbally and presentation skills
- Has an analytical mindset and problem solving skills
- Has the ability to work independently and prioritise a number of tasks across various work streams and alongside a number of stakeholders
