Role
Provide, supervise and be responsible for the provision of clinical duties within the Orthopaedics department.
Promote and participate in outreach to rural facilities in the Whitsunday area.
Participate in the after-hours on-call roster as required.
Provide educational programs for medical students in the Orthopaedics Department, including developing a preceptor program for students undergoing their clinical immersions.
Contribute actively in the education and training of interns and junior medical staff in Orthopaedics/ Surgical disciplines.
Directly supervise clinical services provided by junior medical staff.
Location
The Mackay region stretches from secluded islands off the coast through golden sand beaches and into lush sub-tropical rainforests.
The historic town of Mackay is filled with 1920s Art Deco buildings and public artworks, as well as a vibrant dining precinct.
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
Be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
