Location: Kensington, Sydney (Faculty of Medicine & Health). This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, 2 year fixed term position with a base salary of $113k–$123k plus 17% superannuation and leave loading. Work rights: Full Australian work rights for the duration of the contract.
Why this role matters
The ePortfolio Educational Designer/Technologist works collaboratively with academic and professional staff to support the interpretation and deployment of the Faculty of Medicine & Health's ePortfolio platform (Risr). The role will support the initial deployment of the platform in the School of Health Sciences and the staged roll out across the Faculty. You will use the Risr platform in areas such as accreditation, workplace-based assessment, programmatic assessment, and tracking student progress. The role is based in the UNSW Health Translation Hub.
You will report to the Manager, Medicine & Health Education Development Unit (MHEDU) and have no direct reports.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with academic and professional staff to implement the Risr ePortfolio platform.
Support accreditation, workplace-based assessment, programmatic assessment, and tracking of student progress using Risr.
Contribute to the design and development of forms, templates and reports within the ePortfolio platform.
Pilot new educational technologies, establish workflows, and evaluate technology effectiveness.
Manage multiple concurrent projects with independence and initiative; maintain collaborative relationships across staff levels.
Plan, deliver and evaluate professional development for staff in both face-to-face and online formats; develop resources and guides for self-directed learning.
Provide technical support and problem solving; propose innovative solutions while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
Demonstrate strong digital skills with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and Power Platform (Power BI, Automate, Apps); Power Apps experience is desirable.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
Relevant qualifications and experience in technology-enabled learning, teaching and/or curriculum in higher education, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience with ePortfolio platforms (preferably Risr) including accreditation, workplace-based and programmatic assessment, and student progress mapping.
Experience collaborating with teaching staff to design and develop forms, templates and reports for ePortfolios.
Experience piloting new educational technologies, implementing workflows, rolling out technology more broadly, and evaluating effectiveness.
Experience managing multiple projects independently.
Experience delivering and evaluating professional development for staff, including resources for self-directed learning.
Strong technical support and problem-solving skills; ability to develop innovative solutions while maintaining professional relationships.
Excellent digital skills with Microsoft Office suite and Power Platform; Power Apps experience is advantageous.
Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values, and relevant policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to health and safety training.
