Accounting ManagerCardiff City Centre Hybrid (2 days WFH per week)Salary: up to £50,000 per annum + excellent benefitsPermanent Full-time, 35 hours per weekMôrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a high-profile Cardiff-based organisation in their search for an experienced Accounting Manager to join the finance team.This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of Welsh sport, leading a small Accounting team and playing a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial reporting.Key responsibilities will include:Overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with company policies and proceduresManaging month-end processes including journals, adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting with the preparation of statutory financial statements for the Group and subsidiaries (FRS 102 compliance)Acting as audit lead, coordinating external auditors and ensuring efficient preparation of financial recordsPreparing and filing VAT returns, and liaising with corporation tax advisorsMaintaining accurate financial records and asset registersOverseeing the payroll function, ensuring timely and compliant processing and successful integration into the finance teamEnsuring robust financial controls and processes are in placeManaging, supporting, and developing a team of three finance professionalsCollaborating with key stakeholders across the organisation including Finance, FP&A, COO, and Finance DirectorWhat our client is looking for:A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experienceProven experience leading a finance team, with a track record of developing colleaguesStrong technical knowledge of management accounts, month-end/year-end processes, and statutory reportingWorking knowledge of FRS 102 and the UK tax environmentSolid understanding of payroll processesExcellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and finance systemsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationshipsExperience in process improvement and managing changeBenefits include:25 days annual leave + bank holidaysFlexible working hours (Monday Friday, typically 9am 5pm)Hybrid working ideally 2 days from home per weekPension scheme (5% employee contribution, matched by organisation)Life assurance (2 x basic annual salary)Flexible Health Care Cash Plan (optional)Employee Assistance ProgrammeEnhanced sick payFree parking and gym accessDiscounts at partner storesIf this sounds like it could be the role for you, please get in touch with Môrwell Talent Solutions asap
