Area Sales Manager

This role is responsible for driving the growth of our mining business, with a primary focus on industrial elevator sales in Western Australia, and expansion into adjacent markets such as Indonesia.
Ideal candidates will possess a robust background in industrial equipment sales, with specific experience in the mining sector.The primary goal is to increase revenue for Alimak Group's Industrial Division by proactively developing a strong sales pipeline and effectively managing market activities with a results-oriented approach.
This role reports directly to the Industrial Division Manager.Key tasks & responsibilitiesBusiness DevelopmentDriving profitable business & distributor development in accordance with agreed budget and Group policyIdentify and pursue new sales opportunities in Western Australia's mining sector and some business development in AsiaDevelop a deep understanding of Alimak industrial elevators and effectively communicate their benefits to prospective clientsCreate and implement sales strategies tailored to the unique needs of the Western Australian marketStay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growthBe at the forefront of Alimak's future growth in industrial traction lift sales in Western AustraliaInstigate customer visits to create new and maintain existing relationshipsWork closely with the Aftersales department to drive spare parts sales and growth, including refurbishment worksClient Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the industryLead negotiations and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnershipsCommercial and Financial ManagementReporting on financial KPI's, submission of quarterly forecasts and assisting with the development of the divisional budget for your regionUnderstand contracts and negotiate commercial terms in accordance with Group guidance / policySafety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with local regulations and Alimak Group safety policiesBe the interface between the factory and sales office to identify areas of continuous improvementQualifications & competenciesTo be successful in this role you will have:Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of B2B sales experience in industrial equipment, with a preference for experience in the mining sector or other heavy industryKnowledge: Strong understanding of industrial elevators, particularly Alimak products, or similar vertical access solutions is a benefitExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsNetwork: Established network within the Australian mining industry is highly desirableTravel: Willingness to travel throughout Western Australia as requiredHSEQ Management: Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management; familiarity with relevant trade bodies and health and safety legislationFinancial Acumen: Budget planning, business planning, KPIs, and performance measurement; proficiency in economics and estimatingCommercial & Sales & Project Management: Experience in sales management, distributor development, and project management for larger projects (may include interstate travel)What we offer in this role:We value our team and offer a competitive salary and benefits package:Full-time permanent role with a global companyCompany vehicleCompany mobile phoneBonus as per company STI schemeImmediate start and consistent workSafety-first cultureOngoing training and development opportunitiesSupportive team in Australia with strong technical backingStability and job security of working for an OEM within a growing global companyAlimak Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
