We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager for our APAC team based in Sydney, reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Management, Asia-Pacific.
The focus is on commercial management of major expansion construction projects across Asia-Pacific, working closely with internal project teams.The role involves supporting strategic and operational priorities, including reducing construction costs, ensuring financial controls, managing contractual risks, and reporting to senior management.ResponsibilitiesPrepare budgets with detailed cost modeling, analysis, and presentation to managementMonitor project adherence to budgets, including cost reviews and value engineeringGuide procurement processes for design services, equipment, and contractor agreementsManage commercial change processes and evaluate changesHandle contractual claims and disputesReview project cash flow analytics and earned value analysisOversee project financial close-out and vendor settlementsLead risk management efforts, including audits and contingency analysisReview and discuss project cost reports with senior managementEnsure compliance with expenditure limitsReport on project status, challenges, and successesDevelop and track key commercial metricsDrive continuous improvement and best practicesTrain teams on commercial controls and practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in construction, business, finance, or related field7+ years of relevant experienceExperience with MEP or data centers is advantageousRICS accreditation preferredDetail-oriented with strong proofreading skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong business acumen and communication skillsProficiency in Excel and computer skillsExperience in construction as a client, developer, or consultant is preferredExperience in mission-critical/data centers and negotiation skills are advantageousEquinix is committed to an inclusive employment process.
