They are now seeking to appoint a Branch Manager with transport, logistics and operational leadership experience to take charge of their Hillsdale branch. You will be able to demonstrate operational leadership experience and a track record of facilitating targeted growth through effective resource utilisation/management of assets, equipment and people. In a highly fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will be responsible for the branch P&L to deliver contract services to the Bayside Municipal Council. You will be able to demonstrate strong capability and experience in data management and reporting, key customer management & liaison, health and safety compliance management, rostering, scheduling, union liaison, enterprise agreements, labour hire contracting, asset utilisation and environmental compliance management.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will lead a team of 90 people, including 4 direct reports (3 Operations Supervisors and 1 Admin Officer).
**To be successful in this role you will**:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and development for a team of supervisors and operators
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders including regular communication with major customers
- Shape, build and manage strong relationships and alignment with key customer stakeholders
- Deliver targets for safety, QA and compliance
- Provide effective data analysis, interpretation and reporting
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives
- Have full P&L accountability (circa $17M)
- Deliver efficient and effective fleet and equipment maintenance, management and optimisation
- Drive operational planning to maximise asset utilisation and route efficiencies
- Drive project and change management initiatives
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives
**What you will bring to the role**
- A strong track record in safety, leadership and operational delivery
- Strong experience leading, coaching and mentoring a blue collar workforce
- Experience developing a structured routine around resourcing, and a strong understanding of routing including the ability and foresight to manipulate and fine tune to drive efficiencies
- Ability to drive cultural change around safety & environment in the workplace
- Comfortable around data, and the ability to analyse and present
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to get into the detail to gain understanding but then have ability to rise up and work with respective parties to drive actions and outcomes
- Demonstrated contract/resource management to maximise on resource utilisation
- Demonstrated hands on leadership and technical expertise in logistics & asset management
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing P&L and Budgets
- The ability to continue to nurture a heavy industrial operation that embraces both safety and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- High degree of motivation and energy
- Compliance/QA management
- Confident stakeholder engagement and management experience at all levels across the wider organisation
- Experience building a high performing operation
- A preference for working in an extremely fast paced environment where flexibility and adaptability is key
