Overview
Whitehorse City Council is undertaking an organisation-wide transformation to empower employees to be innovative and to provide excellent customer experience. The role is a part-time, one day per week position as part of the Gardens for Wildlife program. The program supports biodiversity across private land in the municipality and builds community capacity. The successful candidate will be studying ecology, conservation management, urban horticulture or a related discipline and will share the latest research in urban ecology with the volunteer team.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a team of volunteers to run the Gardens for Wildlife program.
Support biodiversity improvements and community capacity building across private land.
Share current urban ecology research with volunteers.
About you
Previous experience in delivering high quality customer service in an administrative support role.
Knowledge of urban biodiversity and basic flora and fauna identification skills.
Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience working with and supporting volunteers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage Gardens for Wildlife clients, Council staff, volunteers and community groups.
