The Opportunity
We're hiring a Front-End Designer to help us transform the experience on our websites and user-facing portals
The Front-End Designer will create visually engaging, innovative, and functional web products for Vocus customers and teams. This will be achieved through the development of a visual design library. The design library is made up of standard visual components that enable developers to rapidly develop customer facing portals / web pages, while maintaining a consistent brand across Vocus digital assets. The visual designer will ensure Vocus meets Web Content Accessibility Guideline 2.1 Level AA standards.
What you'll be doing day-to-day
- Work with UX designers to define the atomic visual components required when developing user experience (e.g. buttons, tables, drop-down menus, etc).
- Work with architects & UX designers to align on the feasibility, scalability and reusability of interface options and design patterns
- Work with salesforce developers to build and maintain a library of visual components that can be applied to user-facing digital assets, reused and quickly updated in response to branding changes.
- Work with marketing to ensure the design library is aligned to Vocus branding.
- Ensure the design library meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, level AA.
- Communicate clear and compelling ideas to a range of stakeholders.
- Promote and educate others on new interface guidelines and design patterns.
- Promote a self-service operating model by supporting the documentation of our design system.
- Obtain feedback on designs via critique with peers.

What you'll bring to this role
- 3-5 year's experience designing and delivering websites for large organisations from start to finish as part of a cross-functional team
- Deep understanding of user-centred design and system thinking. The ability to step back and see the larger ecosystem, focusing on solutions that improve not just one feature but an entire flow.
- Experience using and contributing to design systems, solid knowledge of current design tools such as Figma and the ability to quickly learn new tools as they emerge.
- Solid knowledge of programming, specifically CSS, HTML and a good understanding of Java scripts coding languages
- Communication and active listening skills, with an ability to build and develop close, trusting relationships.
- Good understanding of digital trends and web/mobile technologies, and ability to evaluate the applicability for business solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must have high level of attention to detail and high level of creativity.
- Previous exposure to Salesforce LWC and Salesforce Lightning Design System highly regarded
