About the role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Coordinator to be the lead for safety and environmental matters on site. The role has responsibility for leading our sites towards a world class safety culture. This involves being atop of the latest legislation requirements and sharing this knowledge with the site in the journey towards best practice.
**Key responsibilities**:
Lead the improvement of Safety, Health and Environment at four CopRice sites - Tongala, Leongatha, Cobden and Coleambally
mplementation of an effective SHE management system to reduce workplace incidents, injuries, illnesses, hazards, environmental incidents.
Oversees incident and accident analysis and reporting, follow up and monitoring of corrective actions and close-outs.
Support the SunRice environmental initiatives and implement relevant processes at the sites.
Lead the SHE culture through the site predominantly by "walking the talk" and encouraging others.
About You
This role is broad and as such requires an ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the business. You have a thorough knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and the ability to interpret acts and regulations, and an understanding of case and common law. You can effectively use influencing and communication skills with both internal and external parties to deliver on identified site requirements.
**You also have**:
Relevant tertiary qualification in SHE
5 years + experience within in safety field within a manufacturing environment.
Experience and participation with the Safety Health & Environment committee, conducting audits, investigation and risk assessments.
Ability to manage external and internal customer's expectations, needs and wants to deliver on business objectives.
