**Key Relationships**
The Head of ICT reports to the Director of Business Operations and
works closely with the Director of Learning and Director of Teaching
in relation to educational ICT enablers, including e-learning systems
and innovation.
The Head of ICT will liaise with academic leaders and administrative
managers, including members of the School Leadership Team and
ICT Integrators.
The Head of ICT has management responsibility for six staff and is a
member of the School Management Group.
**_Position Objective: _**
The Head of ICT provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing innovative ICT services
as a key enabler for the delivery of educational and business services, whilst ensuring compliance with
key regulatory requirements. This position will collaborate directly with the School Leadership Team
members and decision makers in faculties and departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement,
and support cost-effective ICT solutions for all aspects of the School.
**_Key Responsibilities: _**
**1. ICT Strategy & Planning**
- Lead ICT strategic and operational planning to achieve School goals by fostering innovation and
prioritising ICT initiatives.
- Establish ICT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with the Director of Learning to develop and drive the School's approach to
e-Learning.
- Advocate for the School's ICT vision via regular written and in-person communications with the
School's leadership, management and end users.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate ICT organizational structure that supports the needs of the
School, determining the balance between internal and external service provision.
- Identify opportunities and develop associated business cases and risk assessments for the
appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in ICT systems and resources,
including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
- Keep current with trends and issues in the ICT industry, with specific reference to the education
sector, including current technologies and prices, advising and educating school leaders and
managers as appropriate.
- Contribute to the operation and continuous improvement of the School's overall teaching and e-learning
program as Chair of the Learning ICT Committee.
- Collaborate with key School leaders in developing and implementing staff training plans for applying

**2. People and Relationship Management**
- Provide leadership, vision and management to the ICT team to deliver value-adding ICT services.
- Manage recruitment, development, retention, and performance of ICT staff in accordance with School's
HR policies and budgetary objectives.
- Develop and maintain internal relationships and teamwork.
- Develop and maintain strategic external relationships, including with peer schools and sector and
government agencies.
- Consult with academic leaders and administrative managers and other key stakeholders on
implementation of new systems, equipment, facilities and processes.**
**3. Acquisition & Deployment of ICT Infrastructure and Solutions**
- Coordinate the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future ICT systems across the
School, including AV in classrooms.
- Define and communicate School plans, policies, and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating
ICT systems.
- Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts, pursue master agreements to
capitalise on economies of scale and ensure that related Registers for acquisitions are updated.
- Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal ICT resources and external entities,
including vendors and partner organisations.
- Detailed cybersecurity awareness and management of appropriate solutions.
**4. Operational ICT Management**
- Ensure continuous delivery of ICT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users
and monitoring of ICT systems performance.
- Establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems.
- Ensure ICT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure ICT risks are managed in accordance with the School's Risk Management framework, including
security, reliability and the development and execution of Backup and Disaster Recovery Plans within the
