ABOUT THE ROLE
This position works collaboratively with operations and all stakeholders to ensure the wellbeing of employees and visitors to site.
It will develop and communicate effective standard operating procedures (SOPs), review risk assessments, conduct incident investigations and maintain systems and information that support legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop, implement, and maintain safe operating procedures (SOPs) that meet legal, regulatory, and corporate HSE requirements.
Provide expert advice and guidance on HSE legislation, regulations, and best practices to leaders and employees.
Lead site operations in the timely completion of incident and accident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
Organize and coordinate HSE meetings, activities, and maintain accurate records and minutes.
Participate in internal audits, reviews and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate and monitor HSE training requirements and work closely with operational teams to build safety leadership and capability through coaching and training.
Assist in compiling, analyzing, and reporting on site energy use and sustainability metrics.
Participate in sustainability improvements and provide advice on waste management, energy efficiency and environmental impacts on the sites.
Develop, review, and maintain project safety documentation including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permits, and contractor safety plans.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that align with safety and environmental goals, contributing to ongoing risk reduction and regulatory compliance.
Assist to implement a "5S" workplace organisation program for the site, working collaboratively with the Manufacturing Managers.
ABOUT YOU
Must have or working towards Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Have good time management, attention to detail and solutions focus.
Proven ability to take initiative and work autonomously and with teams.
Able to interpret and explain legal and compliance requirements.
Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office and safety management software platforms.
