**The role**

Opportunities exist for a Microbiology Analyst at our Kensington site, this is a casual role. You will be directly responsible for conducting routine sample preparation and food testing. You will also conduct a wide range of tests using manual, semi-automated and fully automated techniques. If the test is automated you may be required to analyse data and report results. Your day to day may include.
- Conducting routine sample preparation on a range of routine tests using but not limited to digestions, extractions, preparing standard solutions and reagents, and using analytical instrumentation (UV, GC, HPLC etc)
- Using the LIMS and various instrumentation software to run instruments and to process and interpret chromatographic data
- Reviewing standard operating procedures and test methods where required
- Reviewing and releasing of final data including the checking of calculations

Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing will be a requirement of working on site.

**What's needed?**

Ideally you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:

- Experience in Instrumental techniques is essential; experience in Labware/LIMS desirable
- Diploma or Degree in Science or related discipline
- Understanding the principles of tests conducted
- The ability to be an effective trainer
- Laboratory experience preferably in food testing
