Plan, prepare and deliver the Australian Curriculum in a multi-age setting
- Provided quality and effective teaching which are consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and in alignment with the principals of Montessori philosophy.
- Build positive and effective relationships with learners to enable them to be successful in their learning.
- Work as part of a teaching team to implement the Australian Curriculum and the initiatives of Montessori education.
- Support learners through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments.
- Provide for the physical, social, cultural and emotional wellbeing and physical safety of learners whilst at school.
- Commit to engage in further study (Diploma) in Montessori Education.
- Maintain student records and samples of work and report on performance of learners to parents, the department and other stakeholders.
- Participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of curriculum (the sum total of all learning experiences) and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the learning/teaching program.
- Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with parents and cares, including maintaining positive and appropriate relations between the school and community.
- Participate as appropriate, in school decision making processes and professional development pertaining to Montessori education in addition to the annual conference and other specific PD.
