**What You'll Do**

Join our Science team at the Melbourne Gardens as a Technical Officer (Herbarium) and support RBGV in preserving our botanical heritage. In this position, you will provide ongoing training, support, and advice to Herbarium Volunteers, ensuring their work meets our high curation standards through constructive feedback and quality control practices. You will be responsible for preparing suitable tasks for volunteers and curating unmounted specimens according to current herbarium standards. Your expertise will also contribute to the development and testing of advanced materials conservation techniques, as well as the preparation of curation manuals, training materials, and documentation. You will maintain accurate records for mandatory reporting and assist with planning processes, participating in relevant committees and working groups. Additionally, you will help improve knowledge of the State Botanical Collection by delivering tours, presentations, and content for diverse audiences. The successful applicant will be a collaborative team player who can foster positive relationships across divisions and with external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with the Victorian Public Sector Code of Conduct and RBGV policies and procedures.
