**About the Role**:In this role, you will**:

- Lead policy development and research on state school resourcing initiatives that align with strategic priorities.
- Provide high-level strategic advice, including social and economic analysis, to support executive decision-making.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, fostering strong relationships with key internal and external partners.
- Mentor and develop team members, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Collaborate with HR teams to implement workforce strategies and support talent development across the division.

As a Principal Policy Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

- Contribute to a significant project to develop future oriented strategies for the distribution of resourcing across Queensland state schools.
- Identify, analyse and provide advice on strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable policy options and solutions in relation to the provision and distribution of staffing resources to Queensland schools.
- Partner with relevant organisational teams and key stakeholders to ensure that workforce design reform initiatives proposed under the SRR support core business activities and align to best practice improvement strategies.
- Assess strategic issues and policy initiatives including those occurring locally, nationally and internationally and provide high level strategic advice to the Minister, the Director-General and the Senior Executive of the Department.
- Maintain a current knowledge of developments and initiatives in early childhood education, school education and tertiary education policy and practice occurring at an international, national and state level.
- Support recruitment processes, performance management, and learning and development initiatives for team members.
