About us

The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in the built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to Queensland communities. The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.

The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state.

Purpose of role

Enterprise IT Solutions and Services is responsible for the management and delivery of enterprise business systems, business platforms, data and integration systems, and information management that ensure QFD systems, information, solutions and platforms are designed and managed to meet the departments IT vision and strategy within the areas of responsibility.

- Knowledge and/or experience using SAP SuccessFactors and Aurion Payroll and human resource management systems.
- Knowledge and/or experience in organisational management and project management methodologies.

Your key accountabilities

Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:

- Assess and critically analyse information gathered through a range of techniques to support the design and configuration functions for the payroll and time and attendance systems including award interpretation.
- Perform quality assurance checks and governance of SAP SuccessFactors system relating to maintenance, data integrity workflow, releases, fixes and enhancements to ensure a successful progression to production is achieved in consultation with all stakeholders.
- Research, analyse and review complex issues, proposals and submissions to ensure that related issues impacting on agency operations are identified and considered.
- Review and maintain knowledge to ensure HR systems meet legislative and policy compliance by monitoring and implementing regulatory requirements and changes in relation to Acts, Award and Agreements.
- Contribute to and ensure HR systems changes/enhancements are appropriately tested by developing, coordinating and participating in user acceptance testing and continuous improvement activities to support QFD's workforce management capabilities.
- Provide advice in the development, implementation and evaluation of testing requirements for all staff and volunteers including the delivery of the testing strategy.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of training and staff development requirements for all staff and volunteers, including the delivery of training and education programs.
