The Lost Dogs' Home is Australia's largest not-for-profit animal welfare organisation and last year we cared for over 18,000 lost and abandoned animals.

We're looking for volunteers to help us to provide the highest level of day-to-day care for the cats at our Cranbourne shelter on weekdays and Saturday from 8am - 12pm.

As an Animal Attendant Assistant in the Cattery tasks will include:

- Cleaning cat areas and equipment
- Feeding cats according to relevant feed plans and guides
- Relocating cats to different areas/locations as required
- Identifying and reporting cats that are ill or have behavioural problems to the appropriate party
- Manage enrichment activities relevant to each cat
- Cleaning animal towels and blankets in the laundry

To be considered for the role you will need to be at least 18 years of age.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

- Confidence handling cats and an ability to read cat behaviour
- A positive, mature, and pragmatic attitude
- Attention to detail and an ability to follow instructions (both written & verbal)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- General fitness and physical strength for lifting, bending and cleaning
