About Colourful Connections
Colourful Connections is a respected NDIS service provider based in Melbourne's western suburbs. Our mission is to empower people with disabilities to live independently and confidently by providing compassionate, person-centred support.
Position Overview
We are currently looking for a reliable **female Disability Support Worker** to support a female participant in Kings Park. The role includes in-home and community-based support with a variety of daytime and evening shifts. Overnight shifts are not required.
You will join a supportive team focused on making a positive difference, working closely with the participant to enhance their quality of life and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks such as showering, grooming, and hygiene
- Support daily living activities including meal preparation, cleaning, and routines
- Facilitate community access such as shopping, appointments, and recreational outings
- Provide transport to and from activities and appointments
- Encourage development of life skills and independence
- Follow NDIS support plans and communicate any changes in care needs
**Requirements**:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 6 months' experience in a similar role
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid & CPR certifications
- Valid driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
- Comfortable around dogs
- Punctual, dependable, and able to follow directions accurately
- Strong communication skills with a person-centred approach
- Female applicants preferred due to participant support requirements
