The primary focus of this role is to act as a research officer providing senior clinical, problem-solving skills, expert planning and co-ordination of patients with complex care needs within a research framework
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Research Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Manage allocated research workload independently, following protocols, policies, and evidence-based, ethical standards
Lead internal and external research/clinical trial monitoring and auditing to meet regulatory and scientific requirements
Advise principal investigators and finance staff to ensure projects stay within budget and payments are accurate
Apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards to ensure safe, professional research conduct
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
Tertiary degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology.
AHPRA Registration (if applicable)
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
Temporary part time (up to 12 months with the possibility of extension, 45.6 hrs p.f.)
Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour

The Allied Health Research Team sits under the Director of Allied Health Research, Allied Health & Rehabilitation Services in the Emergency and Specialty Services Division.
The team leads and supports research activity including: the development of research capacity and capability for allied health professionals across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service for evidence-based delivery of healthcare; leading and supporting high quality research generation and translation; grantsmanship; good clinical practice and governance.
