McLean Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth, 30 minutes Southwest of Toowoomba. Specialising in livestock and food production, the business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as grain, compost and feed mill operations. We are currently seeking Rearing Shed Hands to join the Byculla team in a full-time capacity.

**About the role**

This role is responsible for effectively and efficiently utilising resources to supply a high-quality point of lay pullet for McLean Farms sites.

You will be a dynamic self-starter and be passionate about supporting a collaborative working environment, in line with our culture and values.

**Daily duties will include but not be limited to**:

- Conducting feed, water and light checks, including general maintenance to equipment where necessary;
- Conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable;
- Conducting inspections on bird welfare;
- Training of chicks in the use of the aviary system;
- General cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required;
- Other duties as required.

**About you**:

- Live locally for call out purposes or prepared to relocate to the area would be highly regarded;
- Willingness to strictly adhere to the required animal welfare guidelines and regulations;
- Previous experience in the poultry industry is not essential, but would be highly regarded;
- Current valid drivers' licence;
- Strenuous physical activity may be involved, and therefore a robust physical nature is required to successfully fill this role;
- Be prepared to work as part of a team, but be able to work autonomously when required;
- Strong inter-personal skills, able to work co-operatively with internal and external contacts;
- Willingness to adhere to all health and safety, bio-security and operational requirements;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Must be reliable, punctual and motivated;
- Good attention to detail;
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to carry out a range of different tasks.

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands. You must be able to work weekends and public holidays as per a rotating roster.
