Labourer/Delivery Driver

As a Labourer / Driver you will provide physical labour tasks and support operations on a work site. In addition, you will maintain a safe job site by removing any hazards. In this role you will be responsible for the transportation of construction equipment and materials to and from all job sites. Excellent mechanical skills to inspect the vehicle are required before and after operations to prevent delays and possible engine failures. This position is responsible for helping our leads and craftsmen by doing anything and everything possible to help them keep up production, including maintaining/up-keeping equipment, moving equipment, making dump runs, picking up/delivering materials & supplies needed, etc. This job takes someone that is organised and efficient with their time to get as many needs met in one day, as possible. Must be able to operate skid steers and mini excavators for loading equipment.

**PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES**
- Maintain communication between all job sites to ensure everything is running smoothly and adjust schedules based on changes.
- Performs daily inspection of truck
- Operates vehicle using safe and courteous driving techniques and obeying all traffic regulations
- Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site when needed
- Transports material to and from job sites
- Makes runs to a variety of different locations to collect supplies
- Maintains vehicle logs, as required
- Monitors vehicle performance and reports malfunctions
- On Time/Reliable Job Attendance
- Execute assigned daily driving tasks safely, timely & professionally
- Cleans, lubricates, readies, or puts away equipment/tools as assigned, maintains work sites free from debris and dirt
- Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery and at work sites as identified by supervisor
- Operates a wide variety of hand equipment / some power tools
- Performs any unskilled job at the work site
- Assists skilled workers as assigned
- Under the guidance of a foreman, works as a helper to learn basics of the trade
- Adheres to company safety codes and guidelines
- Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Responsible for performing daily maintenance & pre-trip checks.

- Responsible for making sure that the truck is secured at the end of the shift.
- Manoeuvres and controls the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signalling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet & dry). Safely loads and unloads all equipment/materials over all terrains, and properly secures all loads.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum (1) years of Landscaping or Construction/Labouring experience (preferred)
- Valid Medium Rigid Driver's License & Clean Driving Record (required)
- Experience working with teammembers across multiple functional roles (preferred)
- Fluency in English required
- Job training for this position is provided by the company

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing and walking
- Must be able to lift and move up to 20kg regularly
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with work sites
