Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations -predominately in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until they've been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes, water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand's food and beverage packaging industry.
**Role Details**:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving the strategic goals of our infrastructure and services department. You will ensure best practices, compliance with statutory obligations, and continuous improvement across all facilities services. Reporting to the General Manager - Group Infrastructure & Services and based at Gibson Island site, you'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve our goals.
As the State Infrastructure & Services Manager - QLD, you will be managing contractor agreements, reducing risk profiles, and implementing innovative initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
**What you'll do**:
- **Strategic Leadership**: Drive the execution of infrastructure strategic goals, focusing on minimizing risk, managing expenditure, and enhancing departmental value.
- **Facility Management**: Work autonomously and collaboratively with the national Facilities Management team to improve service quality, compliance standards, and operational efficiency.
- **Safety and Compliance**: Conduct regular inspections of Visy QLD sites to ensure compliance with Building and other statutory requirements, fostering a culture of safety.
- **Contractor Management**: Oversee national contractor performance, ensuring adherence to Visy policies, statutory obligations, and driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration**: Understand and proactively meet Visy divisional stakeholder requirements, ensuring successful initiative rollouts and risk profile reduction.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Define and monitor performance measures for contractor activities, ensuring service delivery aligns with forecasted results.
**What you'll bring to the role**:
- Significant experience in a manufacturing environment managing Facility Management activities or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of building and fire safety compliance requirements
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, and statutory requirements related to environmental, safety, fire systems are a huge plus.
- Excellent time management and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
- Exceptional communication skills with all levels of business and external stakeholders.
