About the role
About you
- Knowledge of current medical practices and issues, and proven skills in the management of both adult and paediatric elective and emergency Orthopaedic services, with an emphasis on acute trauma in a non-tertiary environment as well as lower limb/foot & ankle elective surgery.
- Training, knowledge and expertise in lower limb/foot & ankle will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to review, analyse and evaluate patient care for the identification of appropriate treatment and investigations.
- Interest and experience in teaching trainees and students.
- Interest and experience in research.
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour
- Provides patient care by demonstrating qualities of maturity, empathy and time management as well as communicating soundly with patients and family.
- Develops own learning experience by seeking out opportunities to learn, attending learning programs and teaching others
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development by attending relevant seminars and conferences to maintain up to date knowledge and practices and to maintain up to date college mandated requirements.
- Takes ownership of quality by actively identifying quality issues and addressing in an appropriate manner
- Demonstrates sound time management and stress management skills
- Demonstrates a willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team by respecting team members, communicating openly and taking an interest in helping team members.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
- Well-developed communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal skills) with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of backgrounds.
- A personal commitment to the maintenance of high standards in the clinical care to patients and proven ability to react promptly to emergency or urgent situations impacting upon patient care.
- Ability to practice medicine in a cross-cultural environment.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
