**Job Description**:
BIC are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team at BIC The Category Development Executive is responsible for developing the category agenda, ensuring alignment with Sales, Marketing and Category Development Manager to unlock profitable category and sales growth for BIC and their partners. The CDE also has a commercial aspect to the role; responsibility for the development of promotional and category strategies.
The position requires a professional and commercial approach when reviewing trade spend & category data to protect BIC's current income streams and market position. The role focuses on the domestic sales operations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The main responsibilities of this role includes:
**Category Management**:
- Define strategies and plans that deliver category/sub-category growth based on consumer, shopper and customer requirements, ensuring sign off with Category Development Manager
- Management of internal & external data sources along with the monthly category reporting that utilises these data sources.
- Undertake monitoring & tracking of BIC's performance within the market by category & customer.
- Lead the range review process for attributed categories with market analysis and make recommendations that drive forward category strategies and plans, aligning with sales, marketing and customer objectives, ensuring post review analysis
**Revenue Growth Management**
- Support the review and implementation of promotional guidelines for major channels, customers and categories, based on shopper understanding and market knowledge.
- Undertake adhoc analysis throughout the range review process through ad hoc trade spend analysis where required.
**Support the Business Planning Cycle**
- Provide relevant support throughout the month end process, in particular the maintenance of the month end reports. Assist with analysis and reporting for the account planning & budget process.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Tertiary qualifications, ideally in Business, Economics or Business Equivalent;
- Entrepreneurial/outside-the-box thinking and initiative;
- Demonstrated ability to develop internal/external collaborative cross functional relationships;
- Proficiency in Excel, Access and database management;
- Demonstrates sound business acumen;
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills;
- Competent in the analysis of statistical information;
- Well-presented and highly motivated; and
- High attention to detail.
**Desirable**
- Industry experience in pricing strategy and category analysis.
- Cross functional experience (indirect) mainly marketing & finance.
- Proficiency in Business intelligence tools e.g. Nielsen/Aztec.
- High Level of experience and knowledge of Pricing software systems/tools and processes.
