Blacktown City Council's Key Venues section oversees all council's aquatic and leisure centres. We deliver first-class activity and program choice, we promote Blacktown City as the leader in sport, recreation, and leisure and we give every visitor and customer a safe and memorable experience. Blacktown Aquatic Centre is an award winning multi-purpose facility that offers high quality programs and services. Our Centre includes both indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities including an Olympic 8 lane indoor 50m pool, 6 lane outdoor 50m pool, toddlers pool, health and fitness centre, crèche and outdoor picnic and play areas.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who shares a commitment and passion for sport and leisure to join our Blacktown Aquatic Centre team as Fitness and Membership Advisor on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Fitness and Membership Advisor will assist with the growth of the membership base at the centre with the aim of maximising membership growth and retention. The position assists in the development and ongoing assessment of health and fitness operations, centre programs and creche operations.

**Position purpose**:
The responsibilities include:

- Assist with the management and supervision of the daily activities and operations of the health and fitness department and program services, including organisational and administrative tasks
- Ensure the gymnasium and recreation programs/services meet the needs of the community and centre users and provide a level of excellence in customer attention and service
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of specific program services for the various client groups catering for individual needs
- Implementation and management of memberships including sales, member liaison, administration and reporting with the aim of maximising membership growth and retention
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs with a view to maximise participation and program viability in respect to both economic and social returns
- Ensure all resources are well suited, maintained and developed in accordance with relevant procedures, supplier's guidelines and information, industry guidelines and best practice models

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a related field (minimum Certificate III in Fitness)
- Registered Fitness Leader (AUSactive, Fitrec, Physical Activity Australia or equivalent)
- 12 months of experience in a related environment
- Current CPR certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of WHS issues
- Current Working with Children Check.

**Desirable**:

- Accredited Group Fitness instructor or specialised instructor
- Certificate IV in Fitness.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,130.10 per week
- 35 hour working week
