**Job Responsibilities**:
**Port Manager Job In Australia (Brisbane)**:

- The day-to-day management of office employees and crew including rostering, recruitment & selection, performance management, injury management, and providing coaching and feedback
- Accountable for the operational and business performance of the port (in conjunction with the General Manager), which includes the management of employees and vessels;
- Ensuring the vessel fleet is maintained and operationally fit for purpose, and assisting with maintenance and technical matters
- Monitoring and controlling the annual operational budget, and preparation of budgets and forecasts;
- Maintaining and enforcing a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, visitors and customers;
- Accountable for safety performance and statutory compliance with all relevant legislation and Svitzer HMS standards in all areas of the port;
- Responsible for the implementation and execution of performance management and planning, absenteeism management and injury management process across the port with the support of HR and Marine Standards functions
- Review port operations procedures to ensure they facilitate effective roster management and crew optimisation; and
- Liaising and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders and other regulatory bodies as required

**Skills**:

- Management experience in a leadership position responsible for the oversite of people, assets, safety and operations within mature markets and industries;
- Management experience in leading an operational workforce in a highly unionised environment;
- Tertiary qualifications in management or a business-related discipline;
- Demonstrated experience leading a safety culture;
- Substantial experience in the management of a business unit with responsibility for driving cost efficiencies and maximising revenue opportunities;
- Leadership and influencing ability;
- Ability to remain composed working under pressure or to deadlines, particularly in emergency situations;
- Exposure to Maritime, shipping or transport industries alike is highly desirable;
- Flexibility to travel as required;
- The **right to live and work** in Australia
