The Opportunity:
The
Parts Manager
plays a vital role in managing procurement activities, supporting the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role ensures the smooth processing of purchase orders, vendor communication, and accurate documentation. The Parts Manager will be a key team member supporting the Finance and Operations team across North America.
We are open to candidates located in: Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; and Newark, NJ.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and managing the entire procurement cycle, from purchase requisitions to delivery, invoicing, and payment reconciliation.
Maintaining analytics of purchase orders, pricing quotes, and receipts.
Collaborating with workshop managers to maintain inventory levels and ensure timely restocking of critical materials.
Conducting monthly cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Communicating with vendors to request quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure favorable terms.
Identifying and evaluating new vendors to support procurement strategies and optimize costs.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to deliveries, pricing discrepancies, and product quality.
Providing purchasing analytics, reports, and process improvement recommendations.
Partnering with finance and operations teams to align procurement activities with business goals.
Updating and maintaining procurement software (e.g., SAP) to track goods, services, and inventory data.
Candidate requirements:
3–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in maintenance, logistics, or related industries.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a record of process improvement.
Highly organized with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities under deadlines.
Proactive, data-driven, and able to work independently with sound decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar procurement systems preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
