Overview Production Manager (Large Scale Composting Facility - Phase 1) Elf Farm Supplies are a world-leading producer of premium Mushroom Compost.
You will be joining a wholly owned Australian company established in 1981 that has grown to be the largest agricultural enterprise in the Hawkesbury, as well as being the largest composting facility in the Southern Hemisphere.
Your Role This leadership role reports to the General Manager and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Phase 1 compost production team.
Responsible for driving Safety, Quality, and Process performance, the role ensures consistent delivery of a high-performing compost product.

Role Responsibilities Lead and drive departmental workplace safety and compliance initiatives Day-to-Day Management production team personnel including Supervisors, Leading Hands and OS workers, developing scheduling, rostering, delivery of training and team development matrix.
Initiating, training, validating and improvement of departmental SOPs in relation to machine operation and phase processes.
Leading and driving of departmental efficiencies, process optimisation and CI.
Overseeing all quality control and inspection programs.
Monitoring of Tunnel control programmes and process equipment ensuring timely response to system alarms and trouble shooting.
Managing of Raw Material and ingredients / Brew make-ups.
Execution of weekly/monthly goals in collaboration with Management Team Working with external (domestic and international) specialist, agriculture technologist and consultants to better the process.
Managing of departmental inventory and consumables.
Active member of the Leadership Team and Board reporting on performance.
About You You're a hands-on manager who thrives in manufacturing and production environments, with a passion for developing both people and processes.
You bring a practical mindset, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Tertiary qualification in agronomy, horticulture, agriculture, or plant science (preferred) Proven experience in production management or senior supervisory roles, ideally within horticulture or agriculture.
Proven people management skills with an adaptive leadership style, focused on delivery exceptional outcomes for both teams and clients.
Solid understanding of WHS Industry standards; formal WHS training highly regarded Strong mechanical aptitude and a curious, solutions-focused mindset Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on time efficiency are always key Excellent communication skills; approachable, motivating, and responsive to departmental needs Willingness to work flexible hours, including early starts, rostered public holidays, on-call duties, and occasional weekends Licences Forklift Licence (Preferred) Australian Driver Licence Pre-employment medical, including drug screening and Police Checks form part of the recruitment process Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Marketing, Public Relations, and Writing/Editing #J-18808-Ljbffr
