**The role**

The purpose of this role is to provide effective support to Foster Carers to focus on outcomes for children. We are looking for someone with a demonstrated understanding of the issues Foster Carers may face in supporting children and young people with challenging behaviours, trauma backgrounds and/or disabilities. This role can be challenging at times but is highly rewarding.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Assist with recruitment, assessment, training, advocacy and support of Foster Carers who will provide a high level of care to children and young people placed in Out of Home Care
- Develop Foster Carer training plans in consultation with Foster Carer
- Assist in placement matches of Foster Carers and children and young people
- Ensure Foster Carers are provided with regular and ongoing information regarding legislation and policy changes
- Represent Lifestyle Solutions at forums, including community-based functions and conferences
- Support learning opportunities for Foster Carers to develop knowledge and understanding of cultural backgrounds and perspectives and utilise this knowledge to inform practice and support of people

**About You**

We've found that those who succeed in this role have high levels of resilience, are compassionate and they're fantastic listeners and communicators You will need to be approachable yet be able to have difficult conversations when needed and be an outstanding team player with a collaborative approach. You will also need flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to complete Foster Carer assessments and reviews.
- Minimum Diploma in Social Welfare, Community Services, Training and Assessment and/or equivalent experience in service delivery. A Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, or similar, would be desirable.
- Be Step by Step accredited (or willing to obtain)
- Current Drivers' License
- Current "Provide First Aid" Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current NDIS Workers' Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
