SEARMS is a registered Aboriginal Community Housing Provider (ACHP). SEARMS has served Aboriginal communities in regional NSW since 2003, providing housing and tenancy management services to the Aboriginal Housing Office and other Aboriginal organisations. SEARMS currently manage 400+ properties across their operating area, and in 2020 achieved registration as a Tier 3 Community Housing Provider (CHP).

SEARMS is in the midst of exceptional growth. They currently manage 400+ properties, operate a property maintenance crew and oversee the development of new properties to add to their portfolio.

**This Role**

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Asset Manager will lead the Asset Team to ensure effective delivery of asset management that is consistent with organisation policy and plans. The Asset Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the asset team across all asset management functions including responsive maintenance, cyclical and planned scheduling, and supplier and contractor procurement and management.

You will have demonstrated experience leading and training a team to achieve deliverables and outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Assisting the COO in ensuring all regulatory, compliance and reporting outputs are being met by the Asset team,
- Coordinate effective and efficient use of systems by the Assets team to meet above requirements,
- Identify team capabilities and work with the COO to develop targeted training and development programs,
- Engage with complex clients to ensure communication of information is timely, accurate and appropriate, and
- Investigate complaints relating to team/team performance and report to COO

- Experience working with /have an understanding of budgets and budget constraints,
- 3 years' experience in Asset Management and leading a team,
- Intermediate to advance skills in Microsoft Office software: Word, Outlook and Excel,
- Proven experience in using asset management software such as - Bricks & Agent,
- Sound understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act 2010 Sound English writing skills and strong verbal communication skills,
- Effective time management and organisational skills, and
- Experience working with the community and / or a strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture is highly desirable

This role can be located in either Batemans Bay or the ACT. Regular travel between offices is a requirement of the position.
