What You Will Achieve
The Medical Affairs Data Expert leads integrated, end-to-end Medical real world data optimization, and maximization of locally available or newly generated local data, to meet core and innovative development, as well as to support Regulatory, H&V, Safety, Access, and others functional teams' needs.
The role will map and develop local external partnerships with Australian real-world data and evidence groups and thought leaders, including government health bodies, faculties, academics, methodologists, clinical informaticists and clinical data scientists. Additionally, it will ensure strategic and methodological alignment across Pfizer Australia and the medicine lifecycle, and to update the business on new methods of local data capture and analysis relevant to pipeline and in-line medicines and vaccines.
This role will work in close collaboration and alignment with Global Digital, PHI Local / Regional as well as the BU medical affairs teams, enabling them to develop and execute their medical RWD strategies.
How You Will Achieve It
- Leads the medical collaboration with H&V HEOR/RWD roles and supports planning, set-up and execution of local medical RWE projects within or across BUs in alignment with product strategies.
- Advise on and execute as well as support local RWE activities and projects from early concept stage, bringing in medical and scientific insights from the external Australian community
- Facilitates identification and supports partnerships with appropriate local external databases to address prioritized clinical data gaps and the needs of HCPs, HTA and patients, in close collaboration with PHI, Global Digital and BU medical
- Identify opportunities for self-service through interactive data visualizations, and co-develop Medical RWE based meaningful content with a collaborative team
**Qualifications**:
Must Have
- Senior physician with experience or Doctoral degree (PhD) or MSc in epidemiology, clinical epidemiology, health informatics or health data science.
- Proven scientific and technical expertise
- Understanding of a range of established and innovative real-world research methodologies
- Understanding of and experience working with Australian and New Zealand healthcare data and datasets, with a recognition of their opportunities and challenges
- Good understanding of the Australian and New Zealand healthcare data environment. Experience of shaping the environment through engagement and collaboration would be desirable.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience of innovative methods of data collection, including the use of digital technology would be desirable
- Pharmaceutical Industry experience
