**THE ROLE**

This fixed term (2yr) Contract Specialist opportunity reports to the Contracts Management Lead. The Contract Specialist's primary focus is to manage the "Post award" contractor relationships (SRM) and successfully manage the administration of their assigned contracts to ensure all contracted services are provided in accordance with the contract conditions and Origin processes. The role also provides support, advice and engagement to Contract Owners and Contract Administrators to ensure compliance with agreed systems and process streamlining initiatives.

The role entails drafting, negotiating and contracting agreements and the documentation and management of any subsequent variations in line with Origin processes and Directives. In the role, the Contract Specialist assists with a range of Procurement Processes, including quotes and raising and managing purchase orders and invoice management.

Key responsibilities and activities:

- Establish and build good working relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic and key contractors (SRM) and provide a point of escalation for non-performance/performance issues for Contract Owners and key stakeholders
- Negotiate and prepare agreements, including obtaining governance and appropriate level of DoA approval in line with Origin processes and directives.
- Set up, conduct and lead key commercial and contract governance forums with Contractors and key Business stakeholders to discuss performance and ensure resolution of any contractual or supply issues and complete all relevant ensuing contract related documentation in line with Origin processes and directives
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders ensuring contract management and administration activities are conducted, including monitoring and reporting of KPI's, performance management, variations, contract documentation, spend analysis, term extensions, invoice management and dispute resolution.
- Assist with development & execution of strategy for future procurement requirements with consideration to safety, risk, scope of work/services.

You are a commercially focused and process-oriented contracts specialist. Your interpersonal and stakeholder management skills will be forefront in your profile, and your ability to negotiate complex contracts, issues, and dispute resolution to achieve positive results, will be clear in your success to date. You have experience in a legal, procurement, operational or project related arena which has enabled you to fully demonstrate your commercial acumen and ability to deliver on strategic goals and objectives. You have Tertiary qualifications in a commercial, legal, business, procurement or engineering related discipline.

Your profile for success:

- A minimum of 5 years' management experience in Procurement and Contract Management processes including contract negotiation, development and performance management
- Well honed communication and interpersonal skills able to establish and maintain sustainable relationships with multiple, internal and external stakeholders
- Proven negotiation and dispute resolution skills particularly dealing with complex contracts
- Demonstrated experience in contract management and post award administration, including financial management and performance reviews
