The Program Adviser sits in the Health Performance - Gippsland team, which is responsible for leading the commissioning, performance management and compliance oversight of Gippsland rural and regional health services across Victoria. The team also coordinates and leads responses to new and emerging issues and risks relating to rural and regional health services. The role will work with a team to monitor quality and governance issues, will be required to have analytical and conceptual skills, relationship management and the ability to manage tight deadlines are critical to the role.
The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including health service health service executives and a range of program and policy areas within the department. The role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment that requires systems thinking, excellent communication skills and a drive to improve healthcare for rural and regional communities.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to team monitoring and management of key work task areas
- Support the negotiation and management of agreements, projects and relationships to achieve departmental program and related outcomes.
- Take responsibility for allocated portfolios or support activities, and/or special projects.
- Research and prepare draft responses for a variety of correspondence and briefings to senior managers, ensuring relevant information and policies are reflected accurately.
- Support the implementation of program and service development initiatives to achieve service delivery goals and objectives, including strategic planning processes.
- Liaise and work in partnership with organisations and internal teams to continue to build relationships to foster the development of innovation and service development.
- Identify and proactively manage a range of risks, including analysis of broader impacts of decisions on services and community groups and corporate governance of organisations.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
