We are currently recruiting for anEducational Leaderto join our team at YMCA Wavell Heights Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), opening in January 2025.
This is apermanent, part-timeposition.
About the role
As the Educational Leader, you will lead the development and implementation of the education program, promoting children's well-being, development, and learning.
You will help children develop values, attitudes, and ways of living and learning by providing high-quality care, activities, and educational elements, managing and promoting a team environment, and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies, and procedures.
What will my time look like?
Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with support from Assistant Coordinator / Coordinator.
Ensure children's learning and development inform the educational program design, and that Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development.
Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and all internal and external stakeholders.
Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices.
Mentor and support educators in understanding the educational program and practice, including reflection on effectiveness, interactions, intentional teaching, and other strategies.
Ensure compliance with policies.
Undertake administrative requirements.
Work collaboratively with families and the school community.
Am I a good match?
Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrate experience in Early Childhood Education.
Have sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of the approved learning framework.
Demonstrate ability to coach and mentor others.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of child development, attachment, and learning.
Understand evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.
Have working knowledge of leadership theories and styles.
Possess well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze and challenge conventional practices and ideas.
Hold current First Aid and CPR Certification.
Possess or be willing to obtain a Blue Card.
