We're looking for a full-time Harvest Operations Manager to lead and coordinate the full lifecycle of our harvesting operations.AtKalfresh, we're not just harvesting crops, we're cultivating careers, growing communities, and shaping the future of fresh food in Australia.The OpportunityAs the Harvest Operations Manager, you will be coordinating the harvesting process from planning and scheduling to execution and delivery of produce, you will oversee and mentor the harvest team, ensuring all operations run efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
You'll be responsible for executive decision making across scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and troubleshooting throughout the respective harvest season.Given the nature of the industry and weather sensitive environment, flexibility and adaptability are essential.
You'll collaborate across departments, from agronomy and farming to sales and logistics and play a key role in shaping a system led approach that delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes across both our North and Southeast Queensland operations.______________________________________Key Responsibilities:Strategic OversightMonitor crops preharvest to inform yield and quality expectationsDevelop and implement harvesting plans in collaboration with sales and production teamsLeadership & People ManagementLead, mentor, and roster harvest and trucking staffMaintain a positive team culture and coach staff in best practicesEnsure harvest operators and truck drivers are well trained and safety compliantOperational ExcellenceExecute and manage day to day precision harvesting to secure optimal produceResponsibility for driving and operating various types of harvesting machineryAssist with Transportation and unloading of Harvested product from farm to shedMonitor and maintain harvesting equipment and machineryImplement best practice systems to ensure continuity across sitesAddress issues or abnormalities in the paddock to ensure efficiency and qualityMaintain and inspect machines for mechanical or safety issuesApply precision loading of produce to ensure crop protectionCommunication & ReportingMaintain clear, regular communication with agronomists, growers, and the sales teamAttend production meetings and provide accurate data for decision makingMaintain accurate documentation on quality, yield, maintenance, and safetyCompliance & Food SafetyChampion a food safety culture and ensure regulatory responsibilities are metEnsure safe and compliant loading, transportation, and unloading of produceMaintain documentation for vehicle operations and compliance________________________________________What You'll Bring:Proven leadership experience in harvest or agricultural operationsStrong understanding of harvesting equipment and systemsFlexibility with shift times and ability to travel regularlyExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulationsExcellent communication and coordination skillsAdaptability and foresight to work in a fast paced, weather dependent environmentA proactive, problemsolving mindset and strong attention to detailKnowledge in understand key harvesting settings and ability to apply edits for specific crop requirements including soil type, crop size, yield, weed and environmental factorsAbility to identify and address issues or abnormalities in the paddock to ensure ongoing efficiency and quality of harvested productCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementHolder of Multi-combination (MC) Truck licence________________________________________Why Join Us?
