**Role**:
Undertake routine tasks that are usually carried out under supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available.
Problems can usually be solved by reference to well documented procedures and instructions and clearly established practices. Deviation from established procedures will require reference to others for guidance and direction. Assistance is readily available when problems arise. An experienced employee at range 2 will exercise judgement within clearly defined guidelines and well-established practices that relate specifically to the tasks performed.

Does not carry responsibility for the work of others. More experienced employees will provide basic guidance and advice to others relating to tasks within the work area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work flexibly within the role to undertake priority building and garden maintenance and jobs.
- Provide input to an effective plan to maintain the grounds and buildings to a high standard.
- Complete works in line with protocols and priorities established in consultation with school leaders.
- Assist the school in maintaining Occupational Health and Safety compliance including regular inspections.
- Inspect Playground equipment and facilities twice annually and report any concerns or potential risks to staff and students.
- Report potential health and safety concerns to the Principal/Business Manager for adherence to ¿Accountability and Monitoring¿ protocols.
- Maintain the physical appearance of the school.
- Ensure the cleanliness of School Grounds together with removal of excess rubbish.
- Maintain practices in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
- Advise the Principal on building related matters.
