Job Description About the RoleWe're currently seeking an Organics Chemist with hands-on experience in environmental sample analysis to join our team at our brand-new Perth facility, located in Canning Vale.
This modern laboratory and office space offers the latest technology, on-site parking, and contemporary amenities designed for comfort and efficiency.
This is a technical, laboratory-based role that plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results to our clients.
This is a 12 monthfixed-term maternity leave cover that may be made permanent.As an Organics Chemist, you will work independently to conduct complex analyses using advanced instrumentation such as GC-MS and LC-MS.
You'll take ownership of your results, support the team through mentoring, and actively contribute to improving laboratory workflows and systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform sample preparation and complex analyses, prioritising work by due dates and urgencyInterpret and report results with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring data integrity and complianceMaintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal uptimeMonitor chemical and consumable stock levels, maintaining 100% availabilityTrain and support junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and capable lab teamAssist with documentation, audits, and continuous improvement in line with ISO and WHSE standards Desired Skills and Experience About YouThe ideal candidate will have:A degree in Science (Chemistry or related discipline)1-2 years of experience in laboratory testing, preferably environmentalStrong practical experience with GC-MS/LC-MS operation and data interpretationExcellent time management, attention to detail, and independent working skillsComfortable managing competing priorities while meeting tight deadlinesClear communicator with a collaborative approach to working within technical teamsA proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and attention to detailAt Envirolab Group, you'll be part of a supportive team environment led by industry experts.
