Your new opportunity
Join Queensland Treasury as the Director, People and Culture, and play a pivotal role in shaping the workforce strategies that drive the success of a central agency dedicated to growing Queensland's economy. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you'll lead a team of approximately 20 professionals across key HR functions, including business partnering, employee and industrial relations, recruitment, and health, safety, and wellbeing. This is your chance to make a real difference by delivering innovative, client-focused HR services and fostering a high-performance culture that supports Treasury's strategic goal
In this role, you will:
Provide leadership and operational management to teams delivering a diverse range of HR services.
Offer expert advice to clients, stakeholders, and peers on complex people management issues.
Contribute to the strategic direction, partnerships, and service delivery models for the People and Culture branch.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance workforce initiatives.
Lead the development and implementation of Treasury's Strategic Workforce Plan.
Champion a performance culture, using a coaching approach to develop team capabilities and enhance client-focused services.
What experience you will bring:
Proven ability to lead teams delivering diverse HR services, with strong prioritisation, collaboration, and resource-sharing skills to meet agency and client needs.
Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in human resource management, including strategic initiatives and complex advisory services, ideally within the Queensland public service.
Strong engagement skills with executive leaders and stakeholders to drive organisation-wide initiatives, negotiate strategic outcomes, and resolve sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
