**About the role**

TAFE NSW has an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals with current experience in **Foundation, Skills and Languages** to join our team as a temporary Education Support Officer, located within our **TAFE Digital Team** at **Strathfield**. This is a temporary full-time opportunity for up to 12 months.

Your role will be responsible for a range of tasks which directly and indirectly supports the learning process for students from various backgrounds and needs. You will be a part of a dynamic team, helping students to understand their learning materials and concepts whilst creating an innovative and exciting educational environment.

**Note**: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.

**A Day in the Life**

This role helps to support and build relationships with the students in the General Education Section within the TAFE Digital Team. The Prevocational section offers a range of courses, including the equivalent of year 10 to 12 and Aboriginal Studies. You are motivated and dedicated to assisting students to achieve their highest potential through the following:

- Support to Head Teacher with organisational tasks to ensure class readiness
- Support to Head Teacher with tracking of student progress

**To be successful in the role you must have**:

- Diploma in Education or related, or above.
- Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the General Education/Prevocational area.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to meet all the selection criteria as outlined in the position description.

Highly regarded: Certificate III in Mentoring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People.
