**Life Skills Officer (Casual/Part-Time)**

Our support workers are titled Life Skills Officers. This role would suit an experienced disability support worker, allied health professional, or a student completing community service qualifications.

We are looking for people across Gippsland who can provide our participants with that positive influence in their lives to achieve their own goals.

This varied role could involve; getting to know participants and helping them at home, in their local communities, and occasionally when travelling. You may find yourself taking someone for an appointment, helping them get ready in the morning with personal care, or preparing meals.

Prior disability qualifications (Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent qualifications), and experience with disability are highly desirable.

Headway Gippsland Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation operating in Gippsland, Victoria and has been providing services to those with acquired brain injuries for the past 35 years. Headway is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

**Key Selection Criteria**
- Preference will be given to relevant tertiary qualifications (Cert IV and above)
- An understanding of professional boundaries and safety
- A current NDIS Worker Clearance and Working with Children's Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Previous experience with disability is desirable
- A kind and empathetic nature, with a person-centred approach
- Ability to use smart phones and handheld devices
- Be physically fit to undertake the requirements of the role
- Ability to travel including Current Driver's Licence, Vehicle Registration and Comprehensive Insurance documentation
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations
