GHD is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to become the organisation's Energy Lead for Canberra and Southern New South Wales.

The successful applicant will possess a combination of acute leadership, technical expertise, and a strong business acumen.

As the Energy Lead in ACT, you will collaborate with a global team of enthusiastic change-makers and play a leading role in business development with a strong industry and client-centric focus.

This role will allow the successful applicant to connect with a global network of talented professionals, increase client engagement and contribute significantly to our sustainable business growth across the energy sector.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead, manage, and grow our Energy team in the ACT, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Design management of work packages and interact with client-side engineers for design reviews / workshops, resolution of technical issues and design progress updates.
- Develop and achieve business plan objectives and targets aligned with GHD's strategic initiatives.
- Play a leading role in business development, with a strong industry and client-centric focus.
- Provide client relationship leadership by working with client relationship managers, key client coordinators and team members to increase client engagement.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with government and private sector clients across the SNSW and ACT regions.
- Drive business development and a winning work culture, effectively positioning GHD and pursuing large and strategic opportunities to expand our presence and market share.
- Provide technical and commercial leadership on significant projects, identifying new business opportunities and managing risks.
- Develop and mentor a talented team, driving a safety culture throughout the business and across our projects.

**What You Will Bring to the Team**:

- Appropriate qualifications and relevant industry and professional services experience.
- Engaging leadership and motivating skills, backed by strategic problem-solving capabilities.
- Specific expertise and experience in some of the following: electricity transmission (including substations and transmission lines), renewable generation (including wind and solar), energy storage (including battery energy storage systems and pumped hydro storage systems) and future fuels (including hydrogen, ammonia and renewable natural gas), over the entire project lifecycle.
- A passion for innovation and a drive to continuously evolve our work to deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
- High-level market awareness and business development skills, with a strong focus on client engagement and a well-established network of relationships in the energy sector. Strong communication and people management skills.
