**About the Role**:
Council's Social Support Program provides older residents the opportunity to socialise in a group environment at our social centre or through community outings. An exciting opportunity exists as we expand our service. We are seeking two caring and empathetic program assistants to support the delivery of our innovative centre and community based social and leisure activity programs.

You will be responsible for:

- Supporting the planning and leading the delivery of stimulating and interactive centre and community based social and leisure activity programs.
- Monitoring and reporting the ongoing health and well-being of clients and assist with personal care tasks as needed.
- Contributing to the efficient running of the Social Support Program through effective teamwork and utilising a solution focused approach.
- Working in compliance with Council and Bayside Care and Support policies and procedures.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and empathise with older people and their carers.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of centre and community based social and leisure activity programs would be an advantage.
- Excellent ability to prioritise tasks and ability to adapt to change within the day as required.
- Ability to follow legislative requirements and guidelines in relation to the range and nature of duties to be undertaken.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, their families and staff.
- An understanding of the needs and issues affecting older people and their carers.
- Current Victorian drivers' licence. Experience in or willingness to drive 12-seater buses would be advantageous.
- Current first aid certificate or preparedness to obtain this if successful.
- Be able to evidence at least two Covid-19 vaccinations before commencement.

**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- Be willing to undertake a premedical assessment check
