About the roleOur nursing teams play a crucial role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care across various settings.Prison and Youth Detention Health Services operates on varied hours at each centre, providing a seven-day service with either 24/7 roster or two-shift roster (AM and PM).
Centres have rotating shifts of 8, 9.5, and 12 hours.The Clinical Nurse – Prison and Youth Detention Health Services offers clinical leadership and care within a specific area, supporting the overall function of the unit through applying best practice principles, education, leadership, and portfolio management.
The role models professional nursing practice standards in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).
About youOur ideal candidate will demonstrate:Advanced clinical knowledge in primary health care, delivering expert nursing care in complex situations, and supporting team members.
Over two years of clinical experience in corrections, primary health care, emergency, or rural and remote health is highly regarded.The ability to role model high standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to ensure quality patient outcomes, aligned with National Safety and Quality Health Service standards.Strong relationship-building skills and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to others' learning and development.Coordination skills for managing staff and delegated resources, including prioritizing needs and supporting daily changes.Experience supporting and leading quality improvement and research initiatives, using evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.Effective communication skills with healthcare team members, patients, relatives, and visitors, maintaining a positive workplace culture through consultation, liaison, negotiation, and conflict resolution.Mandatory RequirementsVaccination against, and ongoing immunity to, certain vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the vaccination requirements.About West Moreton HealthWest Moreton Health is a rapidly evolving health service in South East Queensland, with community growth expected to nearly double to over 588,000 by 2036.
