We're driven by our core values Supportive, Authentic, Inspirational, Driven, and Customer-Centric—and we're looking for a talenteda Senior Accountant to join ourhigh-performing Finance team.We are looking for a qualified and talented Senior Accountant who has worked in a project-based environment.Reporting to our Financial Controller, you will provide support across all areas of the function spanning payroll, insurance, risk and governance, standards and company finance policies across the Kapitol Group of companies.
You will be based in our state-of-the-art Head Office, 5 days per week, on the corner of Bourke and Elizabeth Street.What you'll do:Delivery of the month-end reporting for the group, including all balance sheet reconciliations, adjustment journals, variance analysis and dashboard reportingManage all tax and reporting obligations (BAS, FBT, PTRS etc)Proactive cash flow forecasting, analysis and reporting, with the ability to train non-finance personnelProject accrual analysisManage the external audit and other compliance requirements, including oversight of the preparation of financial statements, compliance with accounting standards and preparation of supporting workpapersPrepare cyclical and ad-hoc financial reports for senior leaders of the businessSupport Commercial and Operations team with financial information and reporting to support decision makingSupporting continuous business processes and systems improvementsWhat you'll bringCA or CPA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years' experience (ideally within construction or infrastructure)Hands-on and proactive, with the ability to lead and drive outcomes across the organisationStrong accounting technical knowledge, advanced Excel/financial modelling skills and experience in Jobpac is highly desirableTransformational leadership experience with proven success in leading teams through change and process improvement initiativesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable plansExcellent stakeholder engagement across senior leadership and operationsStrong analytical mindset with hands-on delivery approachWhat you'll get:An amazing work culture that lives and breathes it values; Supportive, Authentic, Inspirational, Driven and Customer CentricInvestment in training with the aim to have the best trained workforce in the industryFree health assessments for all staff and EPA servicesIndustry-leading internal communication channels to break down silos across sites, allowing staff to share ideas, lessons learnt and other resources.Kapitol value diversity and aim to build an inclusive environment that champions, embraces and respects differences.
